Roger Tondeur, the golf playing, sci-fi obsessed president of MCI took time out from his busy schedule to give the Show Daily his take on developments in global MICE.

Q: MCI now has almost 800 staff in more then 30 offices in 19 countries so you must travel a great deal. Are there any emerging markets or regions that have caught your attention this year?

A: Very clearly Asia is the place that is growing the fastest. Particularly China and India, where every year millions of people are entering the middle class and are starting to travel and discover places outside of their own city and countries; also companies are starting to use reward and recognition programmes, as well as meetings and incentives, as organisational leadership tools. The second fastest growing place I have encountered is Brazil - an amazing country with huge resources and also a very fast growing middle class.
