Dublin, Ireland – 30th June 2011. MCI Dublin is delighted to announce that three of their senior staff members have completed the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) program. Jeremy Butcher, Senior Project Manager, and Eimear Dunne, Director of Exhibition and Sponsorship and Karen McGee, Sales and Marketing Manager, are now certified meeting professionals, recognizing them as individuals who have achieved the industry’s highest standard of professionalism.

Jean Evans, European Director of Association Relations at the MCI Group said ‘I’d like to congratulate Jeremy, Eimear and Karen on their fantastic achievement. It’s an incredibly grueling course with a rigorous examination at the end and the dedication required is immense. For us, it continues MCI Dublin’s aim of ensuring that the highest possible standards are the minimum required of its staff and in the Irish meetings and events industry.’

The CMP program was established in 1985 and is the foremost certification of the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry. Overseen by the Convention Industry Council, a body that represents more than 103,500 individuals in the industry, the CMP program is designed to ensure its participants have to demonstrate the highest level of experience, skill and knowledge to obtain the qualification.

Speaking about receiving the certification, Jeremy Butcher said ‘It sometimes seemed a long and arduous process to attain these qualifications but it’s all been worth it. The depth of the knowledge required to pass the CMP program can be daunting, but with the support of MCI, particularly from those who already have CMP qualifications, we were able to pass the course with flying colours.’

With a 100% success rate for all MCI Dublin applicants to date, the CMP program is a culmination of the continuous training and education all MCI staff receive. It guarantees the standard of service and knowledge from its staff towards its clients is among the best in the industry.

‘Sometimes it’s not about knowing the answer; it’s about knowing the question’ continued Jeremy. ‘Organising meetings and events is a continual process of solving problems on behalf of your client. It’s what we specialize in. The CMP process not only better prepares you how to deal with these issues, but also how to anticipate them.’
