Business Development Executive / Manager - Meetings and Events

Your Mission

You will be expected to research and develop new client business to support the overall business development for the Meeting and Events department in Singapore. You will work towards contributing to the achievement of the financial goals and growth of the department.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • To identify potential opportunities for meetings and events within Singapore and the Asia Pacific region and work with colleagues from MCI offices in this region and around the world to pursue and develop these opportunities.

  • Reporting to the Director – Corporate Division, you will develop business plans in response to requests for proposals as well as proactively engage with potential clients to understand their needs and create specific proposals to address these needs.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Develop growth within existing accounts in cooperation with Account Managers
  • Manage CRM database
  • Present MCI and our services to new prospects to obtain meetings (develop and implement sales calls)
  • Proposal writing and budgetary calculations
  • Be able to identify industry trends and developments

Your Profile

Candidate Profile:

  • Well rounded individuals with business, marketing degrees prove to be suitable educational backgrounds for this type of role
  • Superior verbal, written communication and presentation skills are essential
  • At least 3 – 4 years of experience in the meetings and events and/or hotel and hospitality industry
  • Able to conduct research, drawing information from a variety of sources and channels
  • Able to analyse research findings and develop concept plans & strategies
  • Great customer mindset and proactive disposition
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application
