After finishing his studies and traveling around Europe, Roger gained his first experience in event management by organizing a series of shows in Paris. Prior to founding MCI, Roger worked for Wagonlit Travel as head of branch and entry department in Geneva, and managing director of Switzerland. During his five years as managing director, Wagonlit Travel took over the management of TELECOM, the world's largest telecommunications exhibition with 250,000 visitors.
Throughout his career, Roger played an influential role in many industry associations. He is a member and former president of the Incentive Travel Executive Society (SITE) and a member of Meetings Professional International (MPI), the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (ICCA) and the International Society of Special Events (ISES). Partner of INCON (Global Partnership in Conferences and Events), Roger also participates in several committees for the development of convention centers and incentive business planning. In 2007, Roger was included in the prestigious CIC Hall of Leaders, an honor for influential leaders who have shaped the industry over a lifetime of achievement.
Despite rapid growth, MCI remains a family business and, in 2010, Roger handed over the reins to his son, Sébastien Tondeur, who now leads the company as CEO. Today, as president, president and member of the Executive Committee, Roger continues to play a key role in the strategic direction of the group.
