The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for writing, editing, proofreading, distributing, and tracking regular digital / social media content produced by MCI USA on behalf of its clients. Duties include creating and sharing content on a variety of platforms to raise brand awareness, and ensuring member/customer engagement, brand consistency, and a positive customer experience.

Individual must possess stellar written skills, be highly organized, and be efficient and effective in a fast-paced multi-platform environment on a variety of projects. Additional requirements include writing and/or editing experience; knowledge of digital delivery and social media platforms; rigorous attention to detail; the ability to work autonomously; outstanding organizational, communication, and collaborative skills; and a proven sense of initiative and ownership.


Primary Duties:

  • Draft, edit, and proof MCI USA client print and electronic communications, with an emphasis on social media posts and promotional emails.
  • Execute digital outreach on multiple social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Higher Logic and others
  • Manage social media for multiple clients, including drafting and posting messages and developing basic social media graphics
  • Monitor client social media accounts
  • Initiate online discussions and monitor online communities
  • Motivate community members to engage and share organization’s content and social media
  • Manage paid advertising on Facebook, LinkedIn and Google AdWords
  • Perform research, including topical search, trending topics, influencers and breaking news to support client missions
  • Cross-train with key clients on web and social platforms to ensure posting of emergent content as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience/Skills Desired:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), technical skills, creativity, and analytical abilities
  • Experience with a brand or organization’s social media platform, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others
  • Attention to detail / strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience with paid social campaigns
  • Interest in working on a variety of accounts
  • Staying current on social media platform changes and skill sets
  • Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines


Educational & Technical Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, along with a minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience.
  • Content management systems and community platform experience such as WordPress and Higher Logic is a plus.


Supervisory Responsibility:



Fiscal Duties:

  • The Digital Communications Specialist has no direct financial supervisory responsibility or authority, but does have fiscal duties related to soliciting and receiving bids, processing invoices, and operating within established budgetary parameters.



  • Complete MCI USA timesheets
  • Serve on appropriate MCI USA Matrix Management Teams; and
  • Function as a MCI USA Team Member in accordance with MCI USA’s corporate vision and guiding principles.
