For the Institutional Division (ID) of MCI Amsterdam, we are currently looking for a Product Owner. The ID Division includes associations, government and other not-for profit organisations where we primarily organize their congresses and conferences, as Professional Congress Organisation (PCO).

The Product Owner ID is the one who cooperates intensively with the ID teams and other stakeholders within MCI. You work on the development, implementation and analysis of our main business tool B-Com, as well as different other systems and applications. As a Product Owner you get a big responsibility. MCI Amsterdam has grown considerably in recent years, and in order to be able to handle the growth of the coming years, the major improvement in our IT landscape is important. What will you be doing?

We are looking for a driven Product Owner who, based on the wishes of our internal and external customers, will organize the software in such a way that it can be used to its maximum and sharpen the processes accordingly. Of course you are critical of the current processes and you advise on how processes can be better organized. You are the one who always asks the "why" question instead of "how". You also keep a close eye on innovation in the software. You are always looking for new opportunities to help the organization, and you have a strategic role in this. You are strong in communication and you understand the change process. You ensure that the users can work well with this and facilitate that colleagues get their questions answered. You can easily switch between content and process and manage the adequate use and functionality of the system for multiple end users.

esponsibilities

  • Advice in the area of process optimization;
  • Signaling of wishes from internal and external stakeholder and translating these into solutions;
  • Ensuring new Standard Operation Processes (SOPs) are implemented and maintained;
  • Intensive collaboration with the Delegate Management Team, PCO Project Managers, MCI TechHub and developers;
  • Develop and create new templates and smart documents to be used by the teams
  • Assist with evaluating new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize performance
  • Software testing of our registration software when technical developments have been launched by our development team in Geneva
  • Maintaining version control
  • Incident management and handling service requests relating to our registration software system
  • IT coordination (both at the office in Amsterdam as during congresses all over the world)

Job requirements 

  • Commercial or Technical degree (Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration)
  • Strong commercial focus and able to initiate activities on this
  • Interest in the Congress sector is a strong advantage
  • Knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript
  • Data-driven, customer-oriented, proactive, creative and innovative
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team; good communicative skills
  • In your daily work you are focused on problem solving and are able to translate the wishes of your stakeholders into efficient processes.
  • You are flexible and stress resistant
  • You like to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in IT, automation and digital automation
  • You understand the dynamics of a growing company, and the challenge that comes with this
