As a member of MCI’s Executive Committee, Jurriaen is jointly responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of an international group with offices around the world. Day-to-day, Jurriaen leads management processes, a range of service departments and the integration of new MCI offices.
Jurriaen represents MCI in the meetings industry and is actively involved in a number of professional associations including the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) and Meetings Professional International (MPI).
A frequent speaker, chair and moderator at international conferences, he also speaks at business schools, leads training programmes for senior management and publishes a variety of thought leadership articles in printed and online publications. Jurriaen also coaches and mentors students interested in developing careers in meetings industry.
Jurriaen’s own career in the international meetings & events industry began in 1988, and his previous senior-level positions include Director of the Congress Department of the European Society of Cardiology and Managing Director of Martlet, an event management agency in the UK.
Following studies in PR & Communications, Jurriaen obtained an MBA from SKEMA (formerly CERAM), an Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in France. In addition he is an alumnus of Executive Programmes at INSEAD in Paris, Harvard Business School in Boston, IMD in Lausanne and IESE in Barcelona.
