Challenge

Our client wanted to create a programme to reward their highest achievers globally with a 4 day programme to Ireland.  The client wanted a venue for welcome night that was completely private and not open the public.  They also wanted to host events that were fitting with the destination and bring their Irish experience to life.

Solution

The programme began at a private estate of the Guinness family situated at the head of Lough Tay in the Wicklow valley. The estate was home to Gareth de Brun, a descendant of the Guinness family and was one of the national treasures of Ireland.  The famous TV series Vikings, has also been filmed at this location. The guests were invited for a tour around the house where they could experience artwork gifted to the Guinness family. This was followed with a medieval style banquet that comprised of fine artisan food and Viking warrior displays on the edge of the lake.

On the second day guests were invited for a literary trail around the Powerscourt Estate, also located in County Wicklow. The blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, secret hollows, statues and ornamental lakes made it a perfect location to bring Irish authors and poets like Bram Stoker, James Joyce and W.B Yeats to life through enactment. While people strolled through the beautiful scenery, a stringed quartet echoed through the rose gardens of the estate.

On the third day we created the day of the Lord and Lady. The morning was spent in a range of outdoor and indoor activities such as clay pigeon shooting, archery, Bailey's tasting and whiskey sampling. The guests also had an opportunity to explore the magnificent gardens of a private Castle. Post lunch, the group was transported via hot air balloon where they enjoyed the sights and sounds from above. The remainder of the day included a trip to Kilkenny, the Wicklow mountains and a visit to the Guinness Storehouse.

On the final day, a Gala awards night was hosted at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham where the internationally acclaimed choral ensemble Anúna, welcomed the group followed by a show-stopping performance of Riverdance!

Outcome

The feedback from the guests was exceptional.  The programme surpassed their expectations.  The client only had 3 months to create the programme and we were able to partner with them to create this breathtaking experience.  The investment in the Incentive programme not only rewards the staff but motivates them to continue a high level of sales as the annual Incentive Trip is a must!
