As association meeting and convention portfolios were completely disrupted this year by COVID and the inability to host in-person events, our Strategic Event Management solution has proved invaluable to MCI clients as we harnessed and transitioned our strategic mindset and operational excellence to the digital space.
Designing a successful digital event begins with thoughtful consideration around what is “the why”? What are the organization’s event goals, what is the story we want to tell and how do we weave these initiatives through every aspect of the virtual event? The virtual technology platform is just that, a technology. Much like an empty convention center, the platform itself won’t deliver an exciting and engaging event on its own.
Strategy is the key. We design appealing visuals, engaging and well-organized content, meaningful networking opportunities, peppered with moments that surprise and delight. It is critical to keep the attendee experience at the forefront --designing site maps that create an attendee journey that is intuitive and easy to navigate. And importantly, we invest significant time working with exhibitors to create customized packages and deliverables that provide value proposition, lead generation and ROI for the exhibitor.
MCI USA has a long history of creating dynamic, experiential live events for our clients. 2020 has presented our industry and our clients with challenges that MCI was prepared to meet head on. In early 2020, it was clear that we would need to innovate our annual Women in Leadership Institute. We did extensive research to find a partner who could both strategize and execute alongside us as part of our team. MCI USA offered the variety of expertise we were looking for. We had lofty goals: Take everything that makes the in-person experience so transformative and make it available through a virtual experience. Our focus was on delivering the same level of interactivity and engagement as the in-person experience we traditionally host. In order to do this, we partnered with MCI to build a custom portal that looks, sounds, and feels just like a real conference, allowing women leaders to make meaningful connections in the virtual world. The Institute was called “life-changing” by participants. Combining beautiful environmental graphics and an intuitive user interface with engaging and timely content, the Virtual Institute meaningfully empowered women leaders at a critical time and was the most attended conference in our firm’s history. The MCI team was key to our success in this year of innovation. We look forward to continuing our partnership into 2021 and delivering more successful events, whether they be live, online or a mix of both!
