CORONAVIRUS CASE STUDIES: Keeping Things Moving

MCI USA is highlighting how we’re partnering with our clients to respond to COVID-19, from messaging and advocacy to webinars and other content. These are our Coronavirus Case Studies.

The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) is the oldest and largest freight transportation association in the United States. Members move or support the movement of goods and materials across the country and around the world. During the coronavirus pandemic, they are a vital part of the supply chain, getting food, medicine, and other essentials where they have to go.

With a conflicting assortment of COVID-related guidelines in some cases interfering with transportation at the state and federal levels, NITL has joined with its existing coalition of industry organizations to advocate for regulatory language that is consistent and doesn’t place unnecessary restrictions on member companies. Included in that is making sure that freight transportation is considered an essential business.

“You go to your grocery store right now and maybe you don’t see the shelves stocked as they normally are, but every day you go back and there’s more product,” said MCI USA talent Jennifer Hedrick, CAE, who serves as NITL’s executive director. “Our members are working hard to ensure that the supply chain remains strong and that families and businesses have what they need, especially during this critical time.”
