Geneva, 6th July. MCI, the world's largest professional conference organiser and provider of strategic engagement and activation solutions for the international meetings and events industry, reveals today its 2016 Sustainability Report: A Decade of Dedication.

The eighth sustainability report launched to date, celebrates the company’s decade of commitment to sustainability and highlights the new paths to follow for addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Guided by the Triple bottom line’s concept of People, Planet and Profit, MCI -within the last ten years- has reduced carbon emissions by 12%, raised over €5.7 million for 468 community projects, trained over 33,361 suppliers, clients and employees and managed 850 high-profile sustainability and energy related projects. Moreover, the company has gained industry-wide recognition earning 20 sustainability awards for its pioneering sustainability consulting services, ISO certification and sustainability reporting. “Since we started our sustainability journey 10 years ago, the volume and types of international environmental and social challenges have radically increased. Businesses, governments and civil society organisations need to foster innovation and collaboration for acting on them in a larger scale. MCI has an important role to play in this process. Clients: MCI organised 112 events around sustainability in 60 countries and won 2 awards from the Global Business Travel Association for its commitment to sustainability. Today, MCI is considered the world’s leading organiser of events about sustainability.

Community: MCI talents volunteered a total number of 5,732 hours this year and managed to raise over €3.9 million in direct and indirect funds through pro-bono consulting while supporting 61 community projects around the globe.

Supply Chain: 100% of MCI’s preferred global suppliers and 22% of the company’s entire supply chain are compliant with MCI’s responsible procurement policies.

Talent: Our Learning and Development institute delivered 4,752 hours of training this year.

Knowledge Sharing: 3,851 suppliers, clients and employees received training from MCI in Sustainable Event Practices.
