Challenge

 The Emirates Diabetes Society (EDS) is a non-profit medical society which was established in 1996. EDS represents a cross section of physicians and healthcare providers who are actively involved in the management of diabetes and endocrinology. 

For 2020, the Society had launched a calendar of different activities. 

Due to COVID-19, there was a need to move these activities from the physical to the virtual space. 

Solution 

EDS in partnership with MCI Middle East revamped the entire calendar of activities and dates to address and cater to the members and the wider audience of local and regional HCP’s continuous educational needs. 

The transition required extensive work to launch a communication strategy and realign content with the committees and international speakers. For this reason, several email campaigns and paid social media campaigns were carried out to promote the virtual activities. At the same time, speakers and committees were trained to familiarise them with virtual events delivery. 

Our team had to ensure that the audience and sponsor’s reach and buy-in were maintained, which was crucial to the success of the event. Sponsors were given different sponsorship opportunities, breaking down the complete package into an À la Carte option, hence catering to all their budgetary requirements and ensuring their buy-in on various initiatives. 

Live CME credits were given to all attendees.
