Fake MCI Job Offers in U.S.

Geneva, 6th October 2014. The MCI Group has recently been made aware of a series of internet hoaxes in the U.S. concerning job opportunities with MCI.

The perpetrators are pretending to be associated with MCI and sending emails or instant messages as part of a false recruiting process, before asking respondents to provide personal financial information and make financial transactions.

The people responsible for these false job offers are not affiliated with MCI in any way, and these solicitations have been made without MCI’s knowledge or approval.

MCI also does not own the domain name

MCI will never charge applicants to apply for a job, ask them to carry out financial transactions or request money, credit card information or other personal financial information during the application process.

MCI has notified the appropriate authorities and been advised that any victims of this scam should report the issue directly to their local authority (i.e. police department) in order to fill in a ‘Complaint against Unknown.’
