MCI & GWS launch first-of-its-kind app to enhance delegate travelMonitoring service provides real-time travel disruption & security updates
Barcelona, 19.11.2015. Following a successful internal pilot programme over the last twelve months, today at IBTM World, global meetings and events agency MCI unveiled an initiative to provide its 350,000+ annual congress delegates with access to the latest in personal travel and safety technology.
Through a collaboration with Global Warning System (GWS), a leading personal travel app provider, MCI will provide delegates with the Safeture App, a first-of its-kind service that provides travel disruption and risk alerts through monitoring, datamining and positioning technology.
The App will be available from December 2015 via an online sign up process for MCI-organised congresses.
Leveraging the analytic capabilities of GWS and MCI’s expertise in creating safe and successful congresses, the Safeture App is designed to help delegates better manage last minute changes such as airport disruptions and increase their comfort and security before, during and after congresses attended abroad.
“With our partner GWS, we are proud to offer clients the world’s most modern personal security technology,” said Richard Torriani, MCI Group Vice President Congress Management. “We organise over 400 international congresses a year in over 60 countries, so this new app is of great value to MCI and our clients. By making sure that they stay up to date, and stay safe, the GWS service will bring peace of mind to delegates, wherever in the world their congress is taking place.”
“We are very excited to expand upon our longstanding relationship with MCI in this area,” said Andreas Rodman, CEO of GWS. “We are taking yet another step forward with MCI and we are proud to help ensure the wellbeing of congress delegates every day, everywhere around the world.”
