For the second consecutive year, MCI Group has been chosen as the core events agency for the One Young World Summit with 2019 set to be the biggest since it began in 2010.

The 10th Anniversary Summit will benefit from MCI’s international standards of excellence and local approach with event talents resourced from MCI The Netherlands and MCI UK’s offices. The global events agency will provide full event management services, from volunteer, transportation and exhibition management to fully producing the summit programme at the QEII Centre.

This is the first time that One Young World has returned to London since its launch ten years ago. The capital city is home to 9 million people who speak over 300 languages, and boasting more than 1,000 diverse venues – providing the ideal backdrop for young leaders to work together to accelerate positive change.

The Summit’s programme will be hosted across Central Hall Westminster and the QEII Centre, with other key events located at the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum.

The annual One Young World Summit brings together the brightest young leaders from every country and sector to drive positive social impact. Across the next three days, delegates will hear from influential political, business and humanitarian leaders including Jayathma Wickramanayake, Bob Geldof, Dame Jane Goodall, Ellie Goulding, James Quincey and Edward Enninful OBE, amongst many other internationally recognised public figures.

One Young World has announced the 30 exceptional young leaders who will take to the stage as Delegate Speakers this year, including five from the UK:

  • Solomon Elliot – founded The Student View which trains teenagers from underserved communities as local news reporters.
  • Mete Coban – Councillor for Stoke Newington, UK, and Chief Executive for My Life My Say, a youth-led non-partisan charity.
  • Ahmad Nawaz – Peace and Education activist who survived the terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar in 2014.
  • Nimco Ali – Activist, Author and Co-Founder of the Five Foundation, working to protect women at risk in communities that practice female genital mutilation.
  • Izzy Obeng – Founder & Director of Foundervine, an inclusive enterprise community which develops early-stage founders.

Since One Young World’s launch in 2010, Ambassador led projects have positively impacted 20.9 million people, with 3.4 million benefiting in 2018 alone. The Ambassadors deliver a social return on investment with $13 of social value for every $1 invested.

Angela van Herk, One Young World Project Lead at MCI The Netherlands, comments “We are proud to partner with One Young World again to deliver their transformative global Summit.
